About Us

Mike and Christine (Chris) currently live in Sharpsburg, GA with their four children including a set of twins. Originally from the Washington, DC area, Mike and Chris spent 5 years in Savannah, GA before settling in Sharpsburg in 1996. In 2002 they opened their own trucking business in Newnan called McNeal Transit Group, Inc. They operate as an agent for a larger trucking company called Carroll Fulmer Logistics Inc. out of Groveland, Fl.
The trucking business experienced some success and Mike and Chris started thinking about how they could give back to the community. It wasn’t until their niece, Hannah, was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age four that they considered starting a nonprofit charity. After many government forms, they were approved to begin their non-profit work in 2007. Since Mike nor Chris had experience with starting such an endeavor they brought on Gina Weathersby, formally with the Keith Brooking Foundation, as a consultant to help build the foundation.
They began by choosing a board of directors, creating a mission statement, choosing a local family to help, and planning their first annual Night in Vegas fundraiser. The first annual fundraiser should be a success with the help of corporate sponsors, individual donations/ticket purchases and local businesses who have donated auction/door prize items for the event.
Each year they will choose one or two families in the Coweta and Fayette areas who have a child with cancer. They will help pay for their medical bills and medical related expenses. The grant committee will begin reviewing potential recipients beginning in January 2009 and will make a decision by March of the same year. In addition, the foundation plans to identify other related charities in the area they may want to support.
They are happy to report that Hannah is now 7 years old, is in remission, and is doing well. She continues to follow-up with medical testing.
